The National Science Foundation's 75th anniversary

The National Science Foundation (NSF) is an independent federal agency that supports science and engineering research in the U.S.

Driving innovation and economic growth, the NSF provides key funding to fuel discoveries that advance our understanding of the natural world and help solve pressing societal issues.

To celebrate the 75th anniversary, NSF is supporting events around the country that celebrate science & engineering. Fresno State's Maker Faire is just one event around the country to celebrate this important milestone!

Maker Faires

Originally started by Make Magazine, Maker Faires are public gatherings that support engagement in making and creativity. Sharing roots with makerspaces, hackerspaces, arts and crafts, as well as robotics and coding, Maker Faires are designed to share the excitement of making and STEM with the public.

Maker Faires typically have interactive stations to make projects, fun demonstrations, and workshops to learn skills.
